How Concrete Lifting Works
Polyurethane concrete lifting works by injecting expanding poly foam beneath a sinking slab. The foam fills empty spaces, strengthens weak soil, and gently lifts the concrete back to a level position. This process stabilizes the slab from below instead of replacing it from the top.
Concrete sinks when the soil underneath shifts, erodes, or compacts over time. Water runoff, poor drainage, and Colorado’s freeze-thaw cycles can wash out soil and create voids under driveways, patios, walkways, and garage floors.
Polyjacking and mudjacking are both forms of slabjacking, meaning they lift sinking concrete by filling the empty space underneath it. The difference is in the material used.
Mudjacking uses a heavy cement-based slurry to push the slab upward. Polyjacking uses lightweight polyurethane foam that expands beneath the slab. As the foam expands, it fills small voids, stabilizes weak soil, and gently lifts the concrete in a controlled way.
Because polyurethane foam is much lighter, it does not add extra weight to already unstable soil. Poly foam concrete leveling also requires smaller drill holes and typically allows the concrete to be used the same day.
